Baroka look across border for stars
Botswana international Thabang Sesinyi has penned a two year deal and his compatriot Onkabetse Makgantai is edging closer to signing for newly promoted Absa Premiership outfit Baroka FC, sources close to the deals said on Monday. The 23-year-old Sesinyi is an attacking midfielder who recently played for his country in the Cosafa Castle Cup final against South Africa. He joins from Orapa United. Makgantai, who has scored twice for the Zebras in recent internationals against Lesotho and Uganda, has been on trial with the Limpopo-based outfit over the last weeks. Sesinyi’s signing brings to 15 the number of new signings that Baroka have made before the start of the new season next month although not one of them has had any previous Absa Premiership experience. Last week Highlands Park snapped up Lebogang Ditsele, another from the Botswana squad. Another Botswana international Omaatla Kebatho, who was on the books of Cape Town club Vasco da Gama in the National First Division, is heading home to join Orapa United.
