Premier Majaliwa officially moves to Dodoma Thursday
PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa is set to officially relocate to the new capital Dodoma this week, with authorities here confirming that construction works at the premier’s residence were at final stages.
Dodoma District Commissioner (DC) Christina Mndeme said yesterday that the premier will arrive at Mtimba area on September 1 and head to Jamhuri Stadium to address the public.
Ms Mndeme was speaking at a meeting with religious leaders where she called for super-support from people of all walks of life to welcome the premier in the capital.
The announcement from the DC comes at a time when the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Policy, Coordination and Parliamentary Affairs said preparation of premier’s residence was at the final stage.
The Minister, Ms Jenista Mhagama who visited the Prime Minister’s residence said the construction under the Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) was progressing well. She assured that the work will be completed as planned.
Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Engineer Joseph Mhamba said all arrangement regarding the prime Minister’s house was well organized. Dodoma Urban Water Supply Authority (DUWASA) Engineer Kasimilu Mayunga spoke about the ongoing activities including fixture of water pipes and sewerage systems.
He said the project is complete by over 70 percent and the only thing left is a water pump.
Tanzania Telecommu-nication Company Ltd Manager Ms Flavian Mziray said the firm also was finalising installation of communication facilities at the PM’s residence.
